Common Questions About Ants | Environmental Pest Control
websitebuilder • April 1, 2022

Here are two questions we get all the time when people call in about ants:

Can we get a bid over the phone? Can you send someone out to spray our ants that are in my kitchen?

The answer is no, we cannot give bids over the phone for an ant infestation, and we do not just send a technician out to spray.

We are different from most companies. We want to come out to meet with a potential customer and identify the ant that we are treating. This is because there are several different species that we deal with in the Pacific Northwest. Each ant and house are different.

Environmental Pest Control will come out and identify the ant that needs to be treated, explain our treatment process, give a detailed bid for treatment, and a detailed instruction sheet on what to expect after treatment, as well as how to prepare for treatment.

Environmental Pest Control looks forward to hearing from you and protecting your family and home from unwanted pests.

We have all rodent accounts routed to routes, and routes are scheduled out one month in advance. These routes are date specific, not day specific. (Which means we try to run routes on the same date every month, give or take a day because of a holiday.) Benefits of routing routes: 1. Same technician servicing account 2. Technicians are more efficient. 3. Service time is going to be pretty close to the same for every service. Automated service call notifications (phone call, text & email) This was a hard decision for us because we wanted to keep the local family feel to our business. At the end of the day, switching over to automated saves Alyson three to four hours per day to do other office tasks during peak season. Going paperless is the newest thing we are tackling. This is going to cut costs on postage, paper, labor and help our environment. If you do not use your customer portal, please look at it. You can pay for your service here and look at your service reports. Efficiency means money saved, which means we do not need to pass big price increases on to our customers.

Rodents gain access to your home through structural deficiencies. Rodents rely on their senses of touch and smell. Rodents will recognize pheromone trails from other rodents. They will also feel warm air coming from structural deficiencies in your home. Rodent exclusion is a process to eliminate structural deficiencies where rodents may gain access to your home. Areas that could be possible entry points are anything bigger than a dime size. Gaps around pipes, cracks and gaps in foundation, vents, and crawlspace entries (Galvanized crawlspace entry wells do not keep out rodents) Exclusion work should be completed by a licensed contractor like Environmental Pest Control. Exclusion is one of the best ways to provide complete rodent control. (All structures may not be able to be excluded because of construction type.) Bait stations and traps are crucial for monitoring and controlling rodent populations. Rodent control around your home will protect your home from damage and family from potential sickness.
